Are you starting to blog weekly and you’re looking for creative ways to drive traffic to your new content?
Awesome! Because I got you covered.
You see, we should be spending 20% of our time creating content and 80% of our time actually promoting it.
The more you leverage a content promotional strategy that intentionally creates massive exposure to your brand, the more successful your new blog will be.
And the good news is, with consistency, you can attract a large audience through free organic methods.
So, use the following tactics to get more visitors to your website…and position your business as the go-to leader in the game.
Let’s go!

#1 Send a Real-time Broadcast🗣️
Your email list should be the first to know when something is fresh off the press on your blog. They willingly opted in to receive your content.
Don’t keep them waiting!
On the same day each week, send an email broadcast to your subscribers featuring your latest blog post. Make it authentic by sending it right after you’ve written the email–instead of automating it.
This way, you can share what’s going on with you that day to add a personal flair.
Finally, be sure to include the hyperlink to your blog 2-3 times throughout the email. People may not click the first time they see it so giving multiple options increases the chance for that click-through.
#2 Slice and Dice it for Your Social Media Channels
The big advantage of writing your own blog post is that it can serve as the foundational piece for your entire content marketing for the week.
Meaning, you can slice and dice and repurpose that puppy, working smarter not harder.
And as a result, you’ll never run out of content to share on your social platforms.
Here’s a simple schedule you can follow after crafting each blog post and splitting them across your Facebook (your page, profile, and group) and Instagram.
- Pull 5 different quotes from your post; share one daily
- Create a high-level long-form Facebook post
- Create 3 short Facebook posts where each dives into one specific point/lesson
- Record a 2-minute video that delves into one key point (going live is better!). You can do this several times
- Add your blog post link to your Instagram profile for the week
Use an automation tool like CoSchedule or Buffer to schedule your content in advance.
#3 Publish It In Your Facebook Group on the Same Day Every Week
When working with clients, I encourage them to create theme days for their content strategy. This could look like the following:
⇒ Motivational Monday
⇒ Tactical Tuesday
⇒ Wellness Wednesday
⇒ Throwback Thursday …
And so forth. Makes it super easy to plan out an engaging content plan that keeps you consistent and not wondering what to share next on social.
With that said, have a designated theme day where you share your blog post article with your group. Could be “Facebook Group Friday.”
Your group will come to expect and look forward to this posting. Also, give some reasons why it’s worth their time clicking on the link in the post. People want to know “what’s in it for me?”
Finally, do encourage engagement. Ask your community to share their thoughts in the comments. The more people are interacting with your stuff, the more Facebook will show it in front of more of your members.
Facebook rewards engagement, so be sure that’s part of your strategy😉.
#4 Publish on Medium.com
Ever heard of Medium? It’s a buzzing blogging platform that creates a place for people to share their stories, expertise, humor, and poetry for free.
Medium is an exciting source of articles and publications if you’re a reader!
As a well-established website receiving over 200 million views per month, it’s the perfect platform to syndicate your blog posts to reach a wider audience.
Because they have a high domain authority, posting your content will give your new website some backlinks, a big deal when it comes to boosting your search engine optimization (or SEO).
Finally, if you join their partner program–$5 per month–you can earn money from your writing.
You’re going to be blogging anyway, why not make some extra coins doing so!
If Medium excites you, HubSpot offers a great resource on best practices in getting started and uploading your content.
I also recommend joining publications that align with your niche. I’ve joined a few and have leveraged them to get my content in front of their audience, which was usually significantly larger than mine.
#5 Pinterest is Proving Perfect for New Bloggers
If your brand speaks to women–particularly, millennial mothers–then Pinterest👏🏽is👏🏽your👏🏽spot!
According to Hootsuite (and several other sources), 80% of Pinterest users are women and the majority of them make over $75,000 a year (household income).
Pinterest pinners are also in the discovery phase, actively looking for solutions and are willing to pay for it.
But Pinterest is also a great search engine to drive traffic to your website. You see, Pinterest acts very much like Google minus the complex algorithms and competition.
By using the proper keywords (phrases that your audience is actively searching for), you can rank your content a lot faster on Pinterest.
Personally, I’ve just started to dip my toes on this platform. However, many of my mentors are using Pinterest as a sole strategy to attract massive visitors to their content.
#6 Give Value to FB Groups You Show Up In
Now, this tip is different from going into various Facebook groups and sharing your link around. Even if your blog post is value-rich, it still comes across as spammy.
Instead, consider 1-2 Facebook groups that you want to go deep with and truly create conversations and build connections. Those are the groups you can share your weekly blog posts in.
The members will welcome it because you’ve showed up in a meaningful, positive way. You’re contributing and bringing the value.
Side note: please keep in mind the rules of that particular group. If they discourage/prohibit links of any kinds, respect it. Just find another group that allows you to share your blog posts and do the above things.
It’s as simple as that!
