#2 Define what success looks like to you

It’s also important to define what success looks like to you blogging. It’s a great idea to have monthly pageview goals to measure your success.

Lily at FindingBalance.Mom does an incredible job outlining success goals for your first year blogging. Here’s an example of what a realistic monthly pageview goal would look like from her website:

#3 Follow your content calendar

Having a content calendar prevents you from twiddling your thumbs each week wondering what to blog about. It also keeps you consistent…which is vital for seeing results blogging.

Download your free content calendar that uses Google Sheets below. It also includes resources and tools to keep you at your game.

#4 Optimize your post with best SEO practices

Search engine optimization is how people find you on Google, Pinterest, YouTube and other search-driven platforms. It’s important to optimize your content in a way that you show up when people are indeed searching for you.

How do you do that? By leveraging keywords that your people are using in your actual content.

SEO is a whole lesson in itself. However, there are some easy steps you can take to better optimize your page for the long term. It takes some major time to begin ranking on search engines (Pinterest is easier to rank whereas Google is super competitive).

I wrote an entire guide that makes it easy for you to understand and begin implementing in your blog content.

#5 Create your 5-7 promotional checklist

Once you hit publish, have a checklist that you religiously follow once it’s live on your site.

Ideas include sharing it with your email list, creating 10 pins to schedule on Pinterest, and creating a complementary video to publish on YouTube.

    Every👏🏽time👏🏽!

In fact, you can glean some ideas from this blog post here. Create your list and commit.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to complete your checklist in one day. You can spread it over 1-2 weeks and use automation tools like CoSchedule to schedule your content in advance.

As I shared earlier, consistency is the key to the breakthrough! Blogging is indeed one of the best ways to show you’re credible, to build relationships with your audience, and to drive conversions.

Stay at it. Over time you will begin to reap the benefits.

    Much success!
